NEW YORK STATE -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino will announce Wednesday whether he will run for governor.
Astorino plans to announce his decision on a video on his website at 11 a.m.
Astorino has been a vocal critic of many of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's policies and has also come out in support of hydrofracking, which he says will greatly improve the state's economy.
He already has the support of one of the state's highest ranking Republicans. State Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos recently said Astorino would make an "excellent candidate" for governor.
Carl Paladino, the 2010 Republican gubernatorial nominee, has not officially entered the race.
Paladino says if Astorino is in the race, he may need a new line on the ballot if he decides to challenge him. He also believes that businessman Donald Trump is the man for the job.
Trump has met with upstate Republicans in recent months. He has flirted with a run, but has said he'll only run with full support from the party.
We will have much more on Astorino's announcement throughout the day.
