Time Warner Cable News will host one of two televised debates planned between the Republican primary candidates in the 21st Congressional District.
The endorsed Republican Elise Stefanik of Essex County, and opponent Matt Doheny of Watertown, have agreed to the debate airing on May 27 at 7 p.m. The sprawling 21st District covers 12 counties, including the entire North Country and part of the Capital Region.
Incumbent Democrat Bill Owens is stepping down after 2 ½ terms in Congress.
The winner of the June 24 GOP primary will face Democrat Aaron Woolf in the November election.
