STATEWIDE -- The NYS Sportwriters have named their small school All-Stars.

Section II got a lot of praise. The first teamers from Class D include Josh Hoagland of Whitehall and John Barnes of Greenwich. In Class C, Nate Hatalsky of Mechanicville was named. In Class B, Anthony Walker of Lansingburgh, Devon Willis of Schalmont and Mike LaNoir of Glens Falls.

Player of the Year honors were shared by a pair of Hoosick Falls teammates, running back Brad Burns and his quarterback Billy Pine were named the Co-Players of the Year in Class C.

They led Hoosick Falls to their first state title in school history. Burns had more than 2,100 yards rushing and averaged more than 10 yards per carry this season. He accounted for 41 touchdowns.
