PHILADELPHIA -- The Union College Dutchmen are center stage in the largest theater in college hockey, the Frozen Four in Philadelphia, and they are the top-ranked team in the nation.

Even though they are now a big-time program, they are still able to keep a small-school feel in a good way -- academics come first. More than 90 percent of Union's teams have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and the hockey team is 3.14.

"This team is important to us for so many reasons -- school spirit, name-recognition, all of that," said Union President Stephen Ainlay. "Most importantly, they allow me to talk to every student that is coming to Union about how we expect excellence in everything they do." ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
