Cloudy With A Few Passing Showers Tonight

Not As Chilly Sunday, Partial Sun

As a warm front approaches from the west clouds will rapidly increase toward dark and some light spotty precipitation may fall this evening with a chance of freezing or mixed precipitation in the colder spots, mainly north and west of the Capital Region. There is a chance, with the cold ground that slick spots could develop closer to the Capital Region.  Overnight and toward Sunday morning, temps should rise above freezing with a period of light rain in most areas.

During Sunday, clouds will gradually decrease a bit and southerly breezes will help temps to rise well into the 40s. Temps will remain above freezing Sunday night as a system brings a period of soaking rain that may linger into the early Monday drive. As that moves out we have a good shot at 60 with partial sun on Monday, followed by a gradual cooldown after that.

Cold Air Eases This Weekend

Rain, Mainly Overnight Sunday/Early Monday

Mainly clear and calm weather brought temperatures from the teens to near 20 to start the day. A cloud/sun mix the first part of the day will give way to increasing clouds and southerly winds later as highs top out in the upper 30s to near 40, although feeling chilly with the wind. As a warm front approaches from the west some light spotty precipitation may fall this evening with a chance of freezing or mixed precipitation in the colder spots, mainly the northern and higher Catskills.  With the very cold ground we've had, slick spots can't be ruled out briefly in any area that drops to near freezing. Overnight and toward Sunday morning, temps should rise above freezing with a period of light rain in most areas.

During Sunday, clouds will give way to some sun and southerly breezes will help temps to rise well into the 40s to near 50. Temps will remain above freezing Sunday night as a system brings a period of soaking rain that may linger into the early Monday drive. As that moves out we expect to reach the low 60s with partial sun on Monday, followed by a gradual cooldown after that.
