NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Believe it or not, the MTA will restore limited service to some parts of the city Thursday.
Service on Metro North's Lower Harlem line is partially restored, though all other lines are still suspended.
As for the rest of New York's subway system, once water levels subside, the water must be pumped out and the tunnels inspected by engineers. Limited service will resume Thursday.
The MTA says city buses will run for free for the time being.
